Mayor Slobotski?

Not sure who the next mayor of Omaha is going to be and I am not sure that it really matters, but I do know one guy that is playing a key role in building the future of Omaha.  Jeff Slobotski.  I am not even entirely sure what Jeff does for his "real job", but I know it is with Truist.  I know Jeff more for what he does specific to Omaha, connecting people, social media and a better tomorrow.  On his Twitter profile Jeff describes himself as a "human router" which is a great tag for him, as he does a great job of bringing people together.  He could be Omahas most effective "diversity initiative" because he brings people together creating numerous intersections of different ideas, resources, perspectives and expertise.  He is also bringing new and different voices to Omaha from elsewhere, including a recent visit by Sarah Lacy.

Jeff is one of the brains behind Silicon Prarie News, which is a great resource focused on the technology and creativity starting to really percolate in Omaha.  He is also one of the folks trying to launch a co-working opportunity in Omaha, he serves on the Young Professionals Council, which is really starting to do some cool things, and he is the person behind Packs Of Promise.  If that was not enough (and there is probably other stuff I don't even know about) he also helped to make Omaha's very first Barcamp happen.  Jeff is single handedly doing a lot to support and promote the potential of Omaha as well as the ideas and aspirations of its people.

As any good idea person would, he is already looking down the road to whats next.  Check out his idea for a cool Omaha event and plug in with some ideas.  With Mr. Slobotski involved, your ideas will not go to waste.
